Review:
I owned one of these for about twelve years. It is a beautiful handling aircraft. The controls are so light that the plane can be flown with the stick with just the thumb and forefinger of one hand. However, it is not a plane that will fly straight and level without a hand on the controls. One caution is that one should never put this plane into a spin because supposedly it will be almost impossible to recover. Despite the above comment, the plane is set up and stressed for aerobatics, and the original gyros could be caged. One nice thing is that for a two place plane it will carry a lot of weight. It will carry two large men and full fuel. With full fuel, the plane will fly at cruise for four hours. I sold my Shinn only because I was approaching age 70 and no longer felt that I had the eyesight or coordination that I previously had.
